The first session can be a bit scary when you don't know what you should expect. Before your first visit there are a few forms that we would like for you to print and bring with you to session. During your first session, you and your therapist will meet with one another and talk a little bit about what is bringing you to therapy at the current time. We will talk about the methods of therapy and evaluate together if the relationship and methods of therapy are a good fit for your current concerns. If it's not a good fit, that's ok! It's important for you to feel comfortable with the therapist you choose. In that case we will give you some referrals to other therapists who might better suite your needs. We will fill out the disclosure and privacy paperwork.
If it is a good fit and you and your therapist decide together to continue with regular therapy sessions you will complete the final paperwork and talk about therapeutic goals as well as set up the next session.
